What is a search in Store Locator?

When a user visits your store locator and searches for stores by location or zip code, it is counted as one search.

For example, let's say a user types in the keyword Dubai in the search bar and hits enter. This is counted as one search.

Search Behavior

You can change the behavior of search by going to Settings > General.

By default, it supports Search by location. If you choose Search by store name, it will allow you to search only by the store's name.

Search Analytics

You can see the number of searches on your LocateStore Dashboard > Home > Analytics > Searches.

Note

Choose Search by location if you want visitors to find stores near a specific area or location. For example, searching for Dubai can show stores located in or around Dubai.

Choose Search by store name if visitors are more likely to search for a specific business or store by name. For example, if you have a location named Apple Dubai Mall, visitors can search for that exact store name.

In short, use Search by location when customers want to find a store near them, and Search by store name when they already know which store they are looking for.
