How to use the Blank World Map

    Choose A4 or Letter and download the map as a PDF or PNG.

Printable world map

Download the map as a PDF sized for A4 or US Letter paper. The PDF is a vector file, so the borders stay sharp at any size, from a worksheet to a poster. The PNG is 3,000 pixels wide for slides and documents.

Every download is the whole world, with whatever you have added: coloured countries, pins, lines, labels and a title.

Labelled or blank, for class or travel

Leave the names off for a geography quiz, or turn them on for a labelled world map. The Continents view colours each continent, and the latitude and longitude lines help with map-reading lessons.

Is the world map free to print?

Yes. Download and print as many copies as you like, for class, home or work. No sign-up.

Which projection is it?

Robinson, the projection most wall maps and atlases use. It keeps the shapes and sizes of countries close to real, unlike the stretched Mercator view of web maps.

Can I get a world map with country names?

Yes. Turn on "Country names" before you download. Very small countries are left unlabelled so the names stay readable.

How are borders drawn?

From Natural Earth, a public-domain map dataset used by atlases and newsrooms. Where borders are disputed, it shows the line that is in effect on the ground.
